Sleep. Do you remember sleep?
On the first Monday this month, I received an email from my meditation app with the above message. Since I had been traveling at a stretch in the last two weeks of the previous month, I had not used the app even once. The app decided that I needed help and sent me the advice!
Being on holiday meant that I was generally away from all the apps I use for work. Grammarly also sent me a severe message, “Hmm…No writing activity last week?”
I am amused. It is evident to all my apps that I have strayed from the path of rightful living and require some advice. My intelligence is not really of any consequence. This has been evident to me for some years as I have been the recipient of advice from the many well-wishers surrounding me. Now that technology has started to instruct and chastise me, I am a little worried about my evidently deteriorating brainpower.
Artificial intelligence has decided I need help! There is an email from the flower delivery company I use. It is telling me that I have been remiss and forgotten to send flowers to someone in my circle on their special day!
The problem with unsolicited advice is that is not always wrong!
Should we put the advice from technology in a separate category -lower or superior? But technology, whatever it means, perceives that all is technology- some are less evolved.
I agree that even unsolicited advice may be very useful. The problem stems when the volume of that advice is too much or when the recipient is intolerant:-)
